Inside: Looking for baby shower songs that won’t make you gag? Here’s a playlist worthy of listening to long after the non-alcoholic punch bowl has gone dry.
Last year, I helped plan a baby shower for a friend, and my job was to provide the playlist.
Easy peasy, I thought.
I searched for “baby shower songs” online and got a ton of results.
JACKPOT.
But as I started going through the suggested baby shower music, I got a little sick to my stomach. And no, it wasn’t sympathy morning sickness.
The baby shower playlists mostly consisted of songs with “baby” in the title. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want Ice Ice Baby playing in the background as I celebrate bringing a new life into the world. Plus, babies can totally hear what’s going on around them from inside the womb. Think of that poor baby!
And the other playlists?
Sickeningly sweet kids’ music.
The mama-to-be has YEARS of cheesy kids’ music ahead of her. Might as well preserve her sanity a little while longer.
So I made my own playlist of baby shower songs.

I didn’t know this and haven’t tried arranging a playlist for baby shower because I’m afraid to pick the wrong song. I do believe that the baby inside the womb of the mother can hear everything. The songs that you chose are so nice and I’m sure they’re going to be a perfect playlist for a sweet celebration. Thanks.
Just wanted to let you know, #7 Heaven is by Belinda Carlisle. :)
And Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson always reminds me of my kids.
No, it’s Brandi. It’s a Bryan Adam’s song.
Lovely pick of songs, thank you so much. I have added some of my own…love Feist and so also added Mushaboom. Van Morrison- Sweet Thing. Billy Joel- She’s always a woman (cos we need to celebrate US too). Stevie Wonder- signed sealed delivered. Bob Marley 3 Little Birds (3 is the magic no. in our case!) Xxx
Thank you!! Incredible playlist!!
