Inside: Looking for baby shower songs that won’t make you gag? Here’s a playlist worthy of listening to long after the non-alcoholic punch bowl has gone dry.
Last year, I helped plan a baby shower for a friend, and my job was to provide the playlist.
Easy peasy, I thought.
I searched for “baby shower songs” online and got a ton of results.
But as I started going through the suggested baby shower music, I got a little sick to my stomach. And no, it wasn’t sympathy morning sickness.
The baby shower playlists mostly consisted of songs with “baby” in the title. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want Ice Ice Baby playing in the background as I celebrate bringing a new life into the world. Plus, babies can totally hear what’s going on around them from inside the womb. Think of that poor baby!
And the other playlists?
Sickeningly sweet kids’ music.
The mama-to-be has YEARS of cheesy kids’ music ahead of her. Might as well preserve her sanity a little while longer.
So I made my own playlist of baby shower songs.
15 Baby Shower Songs for the Best Ever Playlist
This baby shower playlist is upbeat, contemporary, and worthy of listening to long after all the presents are unwrapped and the non-alcoholic punch bowl has gone dry.
These songs aren’t all explicitly about babies and kids, but they manage to be sweet without being gag-worthy.
Sprinkle in a few of your own favorite recent songs with this music, and your baby shower playlist is done. Or combine this playlist with my other playlists of more baby shower songs, and spend your free time figuring out which newborn must haves or funny baby shower gifts you’ll be getting your friend.
