  1. I love this so much! It is reaffirming and inspirational. Every night, I say the same things to my sons. My 9 year olds “things” have gotten lengthy, lol, but for both him and my 4 year old, I see and feel their body’s relax and let go of the day while I’m telling them their things. I say:
“I love you to the moon and back. And I want to thank you for being you, just the way you are every day, in every way. I hope you sleep well and I can’t wait to see you in the morning. I’ll give you a big hug and kiss, and tell you again that I love you, I’m so proud of you, Colin, and I’m so grateful to be your mom.”

  2. I started initiating long hugs with my 9 year old and call them a charging session. It’s great in the morning to connect before school and allow him to melt and regulate. He’s started asking for a “recharge” during the day. We don’t talk. Just breathe deeply. I’m never the first to let go.
Also, this is only for Mom. Dad is not able to use this. He has his own things.
